before CFMX was built in C, while CFMX is built in Java. Pre-CFMX
clustering relied on ClusterCATS, while Post-CFMX relies on its
underlying J2EE server to manage clustering and session sharing.
There are, of course, other ways to get around not being able to
directly share session data. You can use web services (you'll have to
build something manually for 4.5), use WDDX to publish like a web
service, use WDDX to save files on disk, save data to a database, etc.
