Thanks for the info. I am used to handing all this stuff off to web
hosts and just concentrating on the CFML and SQL:<)!
My buddy did get back today and we conference called with the tech at
work. My friend had uncommented a command that enabled verbose error
messaging (line 179) and apparently it wouldn't let Apache restart for
some reason.
So is it running? Not exactly, it runs internally but a little more
troubleshooting revealed that the Cisco Pix isn't accepting inbound
packets. One fix just uncovers another problem, sort of like those
Russian Matryoshka dolls where there is a doll inside a doll inside a
doll etc :<).
The info you provided does help me gain a bit more understanding of
the intricacies of the beast called Apache.
Don't suppose anyone on here knows how to access the console on the
router and change it to accept incoming packets :<)?

Check out my blog on apache and CF configurations
to check if the configuration file is valid you need to go to the
Apache bin directory
c:\Apache Group\Apache2\bin
then type
apache -S
This will give you a parsing of the httpd.conf file to give you any errors
send them over and I shall see what is going on
