To be entirely fair to the DW team - wasn't there an UltraDev release or two
to be sandwiched into that time line?

I am not an english native speaker, I intepreted "annual" as 12
months.
Anyway, for what's worth, the releases date so far were:
DW 1 : December 1997
DW 2 : December 1998
DW 3 : December 1999
DW 4 : December 2000
DW MX : May 2002
DW 2004 : September 2003
