I guess I should have made myself more clear. The form element would
have to be a text input (or textarea), not a select list. Mario's
referring URL seems to do what I want. It does appear to have a few
bugs in the demo. Matthieu's idea of using a global buffer for storing
the options seems to be what they are following. If the options are
stored in a select list, the browser ends up crunching a whole lot of
resources if the select list has say, a 1000 options.
