CFMX 6.1 / IIS 6 issues

I have a system running CFMX 6.1 Updater 1 on top of JRun 4 in J2EE mode against IIS 6 on Windows 2003. Last night the server just stopped responding to requests and one of the admins eventually rebooted it. There is very little in any of the logfiles- CF, JRun, or IIS, to indicate a serious problem.

There are some typical logged hits for IIS vulnerability scans in the IIS logfiles, I am checking into that as a possible cause of the server hang. Does anyone have any other recommendations on where to start trying to sort out what is going on with the server?

I checked the JVM and I'm running Sun 1.4.2, and I am running default JRun config options. I am running two separate CF instances under JRun at the moment if that makes any difference. I've seen some of the reported issues with JVM problems and was wondering if it would be worthwhile to try switching JVM's.
