'tis true, but then ER diagrams and the like are for modelling relationships between various entitities in the platonic sense as opposed to the more solid ones you're dealing with when you go to an RDBMS. A table is just a set of those entities made substantial and isn't itself modelled in ER diagrams, a way of grouping entities with same platonic form modelled in the ER diagram.
