Maybe I'm missing the point here but is what you are talking about = really for MM to show/do? I don't think so.
I seriously think that if we as developers can't show off the = capabilities of our tools of choice and can't substantiate the claims that are made = about CF when the management as why CF over a free alternative then it=92s a = bit of a poor show... I for one have never had a problem selling CF over PHP, ASP or any other web-technology when I knew it was the right fit for the job and to be = fair straight out of the box, it's the right fit in a hell of a lot more = areanas than most of the other contenders be it a Pro or Enterprise deployment. I have run CF installations since 1999 and have run systems that have = been huge clustered affairs right down to a single box installation... I've = found glitches yes show me a developer that has never had a glitch with any language and its also fair to say that there are some things that CF = cant do straight out of the box but c'mon, this again can be said about any = language there is and that is why CF has the capability for CFX tags, cfcs, udfs, custom tags, CORBA, and java capabilities built in.... IMHO CF is the = most flexible choice when it comes to extensibility as the amount of ways you = can do something is just obscene... I've taken CF into large international corporations whos IT departments = have never heard of it let alone evaluated it and by the time I'm done = showing them what we've already done and what we can do for them, they go away = with a whole other set of options to think about and a TCO that is generally = far less than some other development platforms there are around. At the end of the day though if you're in front of one of those penny pinching CFO types that watches the pennies and spends the $/=A3 then = its unlikely that you will get anything through the door that doesn't say = FREE or $100,000 on the headline price tag.... Shame that it is.... Some = people just don't know what value for money really is...
