I installed MSDE on my desktop, and have successfully connected and created databases and users using the Microsoft SQL Web Data Administrator and also the demo of EMS SQL Manager. I don't have access to an SQL Server client tools install at the moment so I don't have Enterprise Manager.
However, it seems that mixed-mode authentication is not enabled, because I can't connect using either of those tools or with CFMX using JDBC with the user that I have created - I get "Not associated with a trusted connection". MSDE doesn't show up in the Windows "Computer Management" MMC snap-in, and all the solutions that Google is giving me are for administering MSDE using VB code. Is there some kind of command line utility or something to enable mixed-mode authentication? Thanks in advance...
