Here in my department at Duke University, we use several RIA's to power
web-based applications that were unfriendly and hard to mantain as
normal CFML/HTML applications. We've found the RIA's to be much more
reliable, rather than having to worry about javascript, frames,
browser-compatibility, etc. IT's made my life as a programmer a lot
easier, and the users really like the interface.

Also, our Alumni Affairs office is looking into using the Intro Networks
application to enhance communication between alumni, both in our online
directory and for smaller events like reunions and such. It's a great
app, and does things that you simply couldn't do with a web-based app.

My next project is to convert a report request form into something more
friendly... I'm going to do it as a rich internet app in Flash because
it'll give me a lot more control over input validation.

I also built a flash-based membership directory for a client, because
the wanted to publish their email addresses but wanted them to be more
difficult to spider the email address... http://www.aaabor.com/directory.cfm

(BTW the backend for that app is coldfusion 4.5.2! No web services, no
<CFXML> tags or anything :)
