I agree, it's always useful to eliminate as many things as soon as possible
when debugging a shaky server where the cause isn't evident.

I wasn't fishing for that honest :) But thanks anyway.... 

Seriously though, my main theme is that if you don't know/trust the source
then you need to thoroughly test before things go into production and also,
as we have both agreed, problems aren't generally language dependent because
bad code isn't language dependent.
