I used to do this but found my SMTP was being attacked, What is the best way to 
secure the SMTP so I can start using CFMAIL again. I am afraid to use it cause 
of the attacks.

SMTP, same as your regular email client.
This operates over TCP/IP, port 25 - any decent packet sniffer may prove an 
intresting exercise.

What do you mean by 'good' and 'bad' ?
