On the contrary.......I give massive amounts of praise to CF for exactly
what it is - a web development tool that makes development very quick and
easy to do in comparison to other languages whilst retaining a great deal of
the flexibilty. What you have to realise is that the further down the chain
you go the more restrictive the tools get although a damn sight easier to
use. The good news these days are that these 'new' tools are becoming
almost as powerfull as the languages used to create them! unless, which is
what sparked of this thread, the project is too large/complex whereby you
need to revert back.
I'm not suggesting for one minute that ASP was used to Create CF....all I'm
saying is that having experience in using both I find CF far easier and
quicker to use and, so far, has been a sufficient tool to develop solutions
for the problems I'm faced with although I appreciate there is a place for
developmet using ASP as there is for C++,Java,Perl etc.......

Boy, that is both a strong statement and an amazing example of
damning with faint praise :)
I don't know that much about ASP, not having had any chance to use
it, but I always thought it was pretty much on par with CF, though
some points could be made in the favor of either. This seems to imply
that CF is, without question, FAR less capable than ASP!?
