It's funny because for a long time I'd used DW and was always a bit annoyed that I needed a site defined to edit anything but gradually I got used to it and found that I actually *did* have sites defined for anywhere that I had CF code... Then DW sprouted the ability to edit files *without* a site... and I've used it maybe half a dozen times. So when I switched to Eclipse, the project-based approach was just like the site-based approach I was used to. And with Spike's File Explorer I have exactly the same functionality that I had with DW for those odd occasions that I wanted to edit a file outside a project. I tend to have Eclipse open 24x7 so I never find myself double-clicking a file in the (Windows) Explorer / (Mac) Finder to edit a file - I just switch to Eclipse and navigate to the file in the Navigator or File Explorer panel. But, yes, the whole view / perspective thing is a bit strange to start with (and "natures" are yet another weirdness). That's the downside of a very, very flexible product like Eclipse and it was part of what RichPalette were trying to do with He3 - hide the complexity. -- Sean A Corfield -- http://www.corfield.org/ Team Fusebox -- http://www.fusebox.org/ Breeze Me! -- http://www.corfield.org/breezeme "If you're not annoying somebody, you're not really alive." -- Margaret Atwood ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Special thanks to the CF Community Suite Gold Sponsor - CFHosting.net http://www.cfhosting.net Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:4:188177 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/4 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:4 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.4 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
