Ouch. I've got a waaays to go before I hit even a mil a day (page views, not pure traffic). Numbers like that always make me feel kind of small potatoes.
I'm going to play with client vars some to see if I can write a custom caching system to take their place. If so, I'll post it up. I looked over Steves papers and will redo all the tests I mentioned below on BS to see how it runs.
