oops...my bad.  the next page on the livedocs answered my question.  should 
have gone one page deeper!

Isn't there a way to initialize an entire array?

I want to set up an "empty" array from 1-42 [1 Dim.] of blank values, ie 
"".  I thought assigning a values to the last element in the array made the 
preceding ones "empty", but it appears to not be the case.
