Good Evening,
I have SQL Server 2000 running a DTS Package at the top half of every hour
(scheduled). The package deletes all records and appends four different csv
files to the table. All files are exported from an Oracle DB. The problem is
that when users query the database at the top half of the hour (Site gets over
a million hits a month) during the DTS run (Takes average of 7 seconds)an error
is thrown. Only one page of the site uses this table (Data search advanced)
Does any one have a suggestion of how to avoid this? I thought "How many users
will hit this at the exact time the package runs..." Well how about over a
hundred a day! Should I use SQL or CF (CF MX 6.1 Ent on W2K3) to lock this till
the package runs? I
I have yet to capture the actual error. Any help appreaciated.
