It is more then stable enough.

I suspect licensing. While the v3 driver was LGPL, the v4 driver 
is GPL. So either you have to pay for the commercial version or 
you can only redistribute it with GPL products (which CF is not). 
NewAtlanta has confirmed that is the reason that the MySQL v4 
driver is not in BlueDragon, and there have been other reports:
