Leave out the nested <cfoutput>, you don't need it, if I understand your
desired result.

What I'm wondering is if maybe you do want it, but I would need to know what
your record set looks like.

Nesting output tags allows for grouping of recordsets.
For example:
DATA
Cat     Value
Color Red
Color Green
Color Purple
Size    XL
Size    L

<cfouptput query="data" group="Cat">
#data.Cat#<br/>
<cfoutput>
#data.Value#<br/>
</cfoutput>
<br/>
</cfoutput>

Will Result in a display something like this
Color
Red
Green
Purple

Size
XL
L

....Subject: Nested cfoutputs problem
....
....I want to use a <cfoutput> tag inside of a <cfoutput query="xxx"> tag.
....i.e.
....<cfparam name="Var1" default="Dat1">
....<cfoutput query="recordset">
....  <cfoutput>#Var1#</cfoutput>#recordset.Rec1#<br>
....</cfoutput>
....
....Assuming: Var1=Dat1, and
....                 Rec1=Name1, and also Rec1=Name2
....Result:  Dat1Dat1Name1
....            Dat1Name2
....
....What I am looking for is:
....Dat1Name1
....Dat1Name2
....
....If nesting a <cfoutput> in a <cfoutput query="xxx"> does that, is there
....another way?
