Yeah, this part of the new forms stuff has some real potential. All the Flash crap is for the birds as far as I'm concerned, but now that the forms work in an extensible way, CFFORM might actually become a useful tool. At the very least, CFFORM generates valid XHTML now, so you can actually have valid pages with it.
The XSL "skins" are very appealing to me. I maintain several large apps that are almost entirely forms (95% admin stuff, 5% "website", if you take my meaning). I've gone to great lengths to ensure that all the forms are structured in the same way, and are tagged with the same ids and classes, so that I can reliably control the apps' UIs with a single stylesheet. While that's very nice, it's also quite limited, as you can't change the organization of the forms, just the presentation.
