Thanks Adrian but i think im going to just take the databinding out.

It was for a message reply, so I was going to have the original message in the
box but have the new message of course go above it but the curser keeps going
after the databinding info. (checked with firefox and opera, didnt even check
ie as most of the users will be on macs)

 was reg forms to btw~

 I appriciate it though :)

Are you talking about a regular textarea or something in CF7, flash forms
etc?

This works for me in IE 6.0.

 Stuff

It puts the cursor at the top of the text.

If you're seeing something different the code on this page will have an
answer or point you in the right direction.

Not what you were after but the functions used in their examples might be
the way to go.

Subject: form focus ?

If you have a body tag of

which is a textarea form field with a recordset bound to it and throwing
some info in it.
But you want the curser to go BEFORE the binded data, so its like this

..............................................................................
....
 | <-- cursor

 -----------------------------------
 previous message
 -----------------------------------
 message content here

..............................................................................
....

when you use the above js, it adds the curser after the message content,
anyway to get it to go before all that? (first line in textarea)
