Ben, How are you setting the period, cfschedule or via admin panel?
I experienced a similar problem. This was a min of 15 minutes configured by the hosting service, CrystalTech. Had to move to another hosts. Don't interpret this as criticism of CrystalTech. In all other aspects CrystalTech was as good as I have experienced. Just one of those numerous limitations that are not always posted.
