I get a value from the field of a database. Typical result is "su,dm,ie"

Assuming that value is stored in "dbfield".

THen I want to use that value in SQl like so

SELECT * FROM DATABASE
WHERE thisvalue in (#dbfield#)

SQL is looking for ('su','dm','ie')

HOw do I pass that value instead of ('su,dm,ie')

TIA,
