I still feel it is an area for potential concern. It is true that it is only offered to Windows/IE users, so far.

The standard ActiveX control install does not show this, it just silently installs the latest player (at least, that's my understanding). If you're using something other than IE or you're on Mac, Linux... then you are not offered the toolbar.
