I was wondering if anyone has found a straightforward way of converting MS Word files to plain text? I am rebuilding an internal app for my employer and they have a ton (about 6,000) of MS Word 2000 and RTF docs (the majority are word); we need to get the content of those docs into SQL Server, and we're using CFMX7 as the app server.
I have found the howto on cfcomet, but was hoping that someone has come up with a custom tag or something more straightforward in the past 5 years since that article was written.
