Rick, Ran into the exact same problem you have a couple of years ago. Get your client a copy of webdrive:
http://www.southrivertech.com/index.php?pg=./products/webdrive/index Seem to remember that it was around $40 and tech support was great. It maps a drive letter to the FTP directory that you specify. You might even be able to use a gateway if you're running CF-7 to watch that directory and immediately process files uploaded there.
