Agreed on that point. As with anything it takes a large, high-profile project or two for something to get widespread attention. I just was getting caught up on this thread and much of it had the tone of "I for one welcome our new AJAX overlords!" so I had a bit of a "Huh?" reaction. If it takes Google and Amazon doing it to get people aware of it and start utilizing the capabilities in their own apps where it makes sense to do so, then I'm all for it.
