straight cf, really doesnt work that way.  cf is server side, and that would
require some sort of client side scripting.

you can do it with "flash", "javascript" and im not sure if there are any other 
ways... besides a pure java applet?

anyway, there has been a lot of discussion about AJAX lately, and links to
GREAT demo's on how to use it...  its not really a thing, more like a couple
types of technologies all wrapped up into one... but it basically
requires a client
side input mechanism, some javascript to use the xmlHTTPrequest transport, some
backend data calls and thats about it :)

now, noone has wrapped that up into a cf_ custom tag, or anything
like, not that i
know/or have heard of, but rob rohan, did make some nice stuff with
his neuromancer.

you can google that, or the houseoffusion website, and find info on it.
