If you call the tag within a CFOUTPUT tag, then you'll get a few extra lines of whitespace above the whitespace-suppressed content. The actual suppression won't be affected, but the tag itself will generate a few extra lines. If it's not within a CFOUTPUT tag, then it won't put those extra few lines in there.
