Howdy, It's time to upgrade my development environment and I'm looking for suggestions/reassurance. I currently do all development on one machine running Win98/PWS, MS Access, and CF Studio 4.5.1(w/the single user Enterprise Edition, vers 4.5). For the moment, all applications are deployed to shared production environments with a hosting service. What I need/want to do is move up to Win2000 and MS SQL Server. I also will be moving into working with Spectra. My questions are: Which version of Win2000 and SQL Server will suffice for doing all development on my local box? Will Win2000 Professional work, or do I need something like Win2000 server? What's the most basic version of SQL Server which will meet my needs? Will the desktop version of MS SQL that comes with Access 2000 work? TIA for any suggestions/recommendations.
