No it doesn't. It just adds the > and moves on... Well the context of the conversation was reasons why we individually choose to use singular or plural naming conventions for database tables. In that context I was commenting that my own reason is partly related to notational consistency due to the possibility that I might want to automate the relationship between a table and a class. In this case the consistency of plurals is not a red herring -- it's part of my reason for choosing singular table names (the subject), not a comment about the nature of human language (not the subject). On the other hand, comments about plurals not being inconsistent from a linguistic standpoint are a red herring: what language scholars think on the subject of plurals has no bearing on software automation. s. isaac dealey 954.522.6080 new epoch : isn't it time for a change? add features without fixtures with the onTap open source framework http://macromedia.breezecentral.com/p49777853/ http://www.sys-con.com/author/?id=4806 http://www.fusiontap.com ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Logware (www.logware.us): a new and convenient web-based time tracking application.
