You can do this with CFMX.

One of the easiest ways is to convert the image to text (using BASE64) and
storing the text.  If only the CF app will be using this then this works
very well and isn't database specific.

But I believe that CFMX (and 5.0 I think) can deal with blobs using the
CFFILE tag.
