I didn't think that "Delphi" had a database engine at all. Delphi (unless I'm wrong which is likely) is much more comparable to something like Visual Basic than to Access or Foxpro. Delphi would probably (I'm guessing) use something like the JET engine if it needed a database internally or (more likely) access an external database directly. A guy I know (he works in my building and we're definitely on friendly terms despite the fact that he opens pretty much every conversation with "so, still using ColdFusion?) has done some work with Delphi and CF (but nothing recently I think). He created, back in the CF 4.5 days, an API to allow CFXs to be built using Delphi. In short while he's not done this kind of thing for a while he may be able to offer some insight.
