I'm tring to set up my new dev machine, and I've got the same SQLServer2000 setup I've used for years. I've set up datasources ok using the control panel ODBC Administrator.
But when I try to set up ColdFusion datasources, nothing I've tried in the past is working. I keep getting this error: [quote] The root cause was that: java.sql.SQLException: [Macromedia][SQLServer JDBC Driver]Error establishing socket. Unknown host: [/quote] With my other pcs in the past, if I can't connect one way I'll try another and it's always worked. I've tried (local), 127.0.0.1, Notebook (thats my computer's name) for the server names and none of them works. Always the same result as above.
