Well with MS SQL there's a back way in... but there's an easier way...

Do a query on your table for a single row, then look for the field 
"columnlist" in your query, i.e.

<cfquery name="queryname">
    select * from table where ID = something
</cfquery>

#queryname.columnlist#

It'll show a list of the columns returned. If you select *, you'll get 
them all - then just do a ListFindNoCase() on that list for your column.
