I'm in a similar boat, and use the POP3 tag as well. It beats the snot 
out of CF's native <cfpop>.

HOWEVER... depending on what mail server you're trying to tap, and the 
size of the email account's inbox that you're trying
to tap... even that wonderful tag can choke.

As far as bounces, there's a set of scripts called "BoogieBounce" that I 
have yet to monkey with myself, but it looks like
a good solution for pushing a bounced email through and getting back 
some decent detail as to WHY it bounced.
