we're using Tortoise along with CFEclipse's CVS functionality...
A direct export to a specific directory is possible. But copying half of your 
time from one directory to another shouldn't be called 'best practices'...

Another approach I read about was to check out to the webroot of the servers 
and just perform an update on the server itself. Sounds nice and easy, but this 
way you get lots of CVS-directories on the servers. 

I also thought about this magical CFscript to export files from CVS and move 
them to the right directory... but I can't believe this hasn't been done 
already (ok, maybe not in CF but I wouldn't care :) )
