If they have SQL Server they already own the reporting services; you could
cube up the data and use OLAP and do quite well using the products they have
already paid for. Once you figure out the schema to get it from SQL tables
into an OLAP cube it's gravy.

Thanks, Mike, I'll check out Embarcadero. We are basically in
pre-discovery. The client has a web-based application with a SQL
Server database backend. At this point I'm assuming we'll set them up
with some kind of stand-alone reporting server and replicate the
application data to it.
