Normally I've learned not to say anything, but... My current hobby project
these days is a thing called INMaL. It's a specialized multimedia relational
database server. It handles image data and manipulates them with stored
procedure-like scripts. There's also a caching http interface that lets you
do what you're so hot for here: serve dynamic images from a db. :)
Just so you knw you're not the only one thinking about it.
