Read my posts!! ;-) VC money = Oracle....until then is MS SQL to get the
product finished

As has been said lately on list....you get what you pay for... Crap I said
I wouldn't get into this...just wanted a little help and I get jumped o by
the open source police ;-)

Listen...free stuff is free until you run into it's limitations (like ref
integrity in MySQL...yes I know you can "add-on"...or Transaction roll
back...etc.). If your DB lacks ref integrity....you then have to make you
own via code (and that is so wrong)...then maintenance becomes longer and
harder and more complex....so your "FREE" has become "friggin expensive and
possibly dmaging to your all important data". Please note...this is only 1
example...and I do know you can force MySQL to have ref integrity...but I
don't want to have to force anything...it should be there IMHO...do not pick
it apart...the concept applies to MANY free offerings even if the example
may be a bit weak

MS SQL Server and Oracle and even Access have all these features which I
consider to be what defines a "real" relational database. Might be my
opinion...but you know what...I'm allowed to have it...and so far...you know
what else...I've been right and my clients ALWAYS thank me.

nuff said...I got my help...21 of the 50 odd tables will NOT import into MS
SQL via the MySQLODBC 3.51 driver so now I have to find out what kind of
crap in MySQL is causing the create table scripts to fail.

Thanks again for those that helped...and I forgive those that dragged me
into this debate ;-)

Cheers
