Well, I'd recommend changing your host name if you can, simply because it's a bit confusing to have a default host for a subdomain. However, as an alternative, you might be able to rewrite the cookie yourself using the CFCOOKIE tag and omitting the DOMAIN attribute so that it is only set for the host that's creating the cookie.
