:) I work with a lot of poorly formatted CF at my day-job... it's
pretty common actually...

Strangely, even without making any modifications (not even a single
character) to his css and javascript files, I still can't make them
work in my test project. I've looked at everything I could imagine
might cause a problem and I can't figure out why it doesn't work...
I've examined his files, your files... I've looked at the doctypes
being used, I've looked at the elements being used, I've looked at the
css applied to the layouts... and all I seem to get is a box with
un-rounded corners and two verticle lines on either side of a
sub-element. Very frustrating. It's not a major issue, it's just a
nice idea and I was hoping I could implement it in a reuseable way.

That's been one of the purposes of my framework for a long time --
graceful updates... We for the most part don't worry too much about
our software working when we upgrade our operating system or plugins
working when a browser is updated... not that there aren't ever
complications, but those complications are generally minimized... but
with web software it's sort of a de-facto standard that you get
something someone else has made, you modify it for your needs, and
then when they release an update you're screwed. I find it amazing
that nobody else seems to consider this even odd, much less
counterproductive. Or at least very few people...
