Jochem, I need to read up on MS SQL Transaction logs and discuss options with my host. Should I also read-up on snapshots? Outside of UML, I don't know what they are.

Few applications use any database. Sure, it won't work with Access, but MS SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL etc. all have some sort of transaction log that can be used. But it does require access to the logs, which Andy apparently doesn't have.
