I think Java programmers tend to think of HTML as being "beneath them"
because, well... that's display... and that means it's something
that's designed to satisfy the desires of a stupid user instead of the
desires of smart Java programmers who know better. :P

You'd think certainly if they're smart enough to work with Java that
they'd be smart enough to write clean and attractive HTML/CSS/DOM.
Unless of course Java is so overcomplicated that working with it
leaves them no time to devote to these things. :P
