Hi everyone,
I got my grid to work but the syntax of the line of code is a little out of
my understanding. Can someone break down what each part of this is doing so
I can understand what is going on? Here is the line of code:
<cfinput type="text" name="firstname" label="First"
bind="{grid.dataProvider[grid.selectedIndex]['FIRSTNAME']}"
onChange="grid.dataProvider.editField(grid.selectedIndex,
'FIRSTNAME', firstname.text);">
OK, here is what I do not understand. First off, what is the dataProvider
portion mean? I did a search for it in the live docs and nothing came up.
Next, the code inside the [] is obviously referring to some part of the
firstname variable, but is this pointing to the grid column, the query
variable, or what? And then in the last line the firstname.text. Is this
referring to the cfinput field firstname? If so, if it were another type
such as checkbox would I change the .text to .checkbox?
Any help or URL to more specific instructions would be great! I got this
from the snippets files, but they do not come with explanations and they
really should.
