Wow that was an old thread. As far as I know you still have to do what it says in order to use something like FakeURL. I wrote an article in CFDJ years ago about a way to write what I call 'pseudo-static' pages to get around the shared server / IIS access problem and maintain the dynamic nature of the page (was called "Disappear From The Invisible Web"). While its super-easy to implement its a little zany, so be advised before you read it that you'll think I'm crazy. Nonetheless it is still a quick/easy fix and I've expanded the technique to embrace 'friendly' urls (i.e. 'http://foohbar.com/mypage.cfm' instead of 'http://foohbar.com/content.cfm/id/123'.
