The error doesn't strike me as coming from the HTTP process itself, but from
the conversion to a query.

To test this just try the call with the name - I think it'll work.  Now you
know it's the content conversion that's crapping the bed.

Any odd columns headers?  Weird characters (I don't think CF5 was Unicode
compatible where CF 7 is)?
