<cfif evaluate("#namelist#") = "">
<cfset "l#namelist#" = 0>
<cfelse>
<cfset "l#namelist#" = evaluate("#namelist#")>
</cfif>
The rewrite (because "namelist" is a query name and column name and I
wasn't prepared to go the extra mile to eliminate the evaluate in this
case):
<cfset "l#namelist#" = val(evaluate(namelist))>
Still ugly as sin... <sigh>...

What's wrong with that Dave? :) He obviously needed to know the
representation of the ascii code represented by "1" and used the
evaluate(de()) just in case, 'cause, you never know, ya know. :) Much
like when I use this conditional expression:
<cfif 1 eq 1 and 1 eq 1 and 1 eq 1 and 1 eq 1>
Just 'cause... you know... you never know, it might equal something
else. :P
