The command line encoder is still supported. The web version is not. I think it's because it's just an example of the SDK in a real-world situation.

Even if it's not supported there's still a command-line encoder that would do the trick here. It's very capable... but of course only outputs Windows Media. But I think that "any format" almost by definition means that you'll be looking at a collection of utilities. Personally I don't know of anything that supports everything, although Media Cleaner comes closest in my experience (but I don't know if it has a command -line interface). ;^) All the formats of AVI, WMV, Real, QuickTime, etc - I doubt you'll find something for all of them. There's also something to be said for using the vendor supplied tools - they do tend to be better quality than the jacks-of-all-trade.
