Channels are often just a grouping of URLs, defined by the user in
some way. Google Adsense allows you to create a channel for everything
in directories under a certain URL (e.g. www.mysite.com/onedir/* might
be one channel, www.mysite.com/twodir/* might be another) or to create
custom cahnnels that become part of the ad code that goes on the page
(so the ad code passes their advertiser ID and the user defined
channel ID too). In your case it could then be used for products or
whatever the user wants.
