It doesn't ruin my day to know that someone drives Toyota, but I don't happen to like them and therefore like to rail on people who do. It doesn't ruin my day to know that some people don't like green beans either, but when someone tells me that they don't, I'm likely to go into the same kind of argument. I'm sure you can think of some subject on which you do the same thing.
